Amplifier Magazine:
Like Ike and Tina Turner before them, Stimulator never do anything nice and easy. They always do it nice and rough....and really big. The debut CD by this LA band will quickly recall the heydays of those early MTV and MV3 days when bands like Berlin and Missing Persons ruled, but with the more contemporary edge added to keep things real. Lead vocalist Susan Hyatt (formerly of Pillbox) has the kind of come-hither voice that will suck listeners in and captivate them throughout each of these 11 tracks. Powerful new wave inspired numbers like “78 Stimulator” “Feelin Alright,” and “Complicated Girl “ sit side by side with the rock disco of “Let’s Hook Up,” “On Top of the World” and “In My System,” as well as swirling ballads like “New Vampire” and “My Beautiful Muse.” The album also features a nifty cover of the Olivia Newton-John classic “Magic.”
